Having grown up in Wellington, he first joined Weta Digital in 1998, staying through to the end of the Lord of the Rings trilogy before heading to the United Kingdom in 2004.

While in the UK Steve worked for Pixomondo and MPC working on notable projects including VFX Oscar-winner Hugo, and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

He returned to Weta Digital in 2012, working initially as the Art Department Manager before moving into a similar role in the Environments Department. As the company looked to grow its production management capabilities and scale, he was tapped to take his current position in 2015.

Steve received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Film from Victoria University, Wellington.
